Delrin is Hiring a Remote Chief Accounting Officer

As a trailblazer in the High-End Engineering Polymer Market, the iconic Delrin brand, combined with our proprietary technology and extensive application knowledge, positions us as leaders in our field.We are seeking a dynamic individual to fill the newly created role of Chief Accounting Officer , reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. In this pivotal position, you will spearhead the development and management of an international financial accounting team, ensuring precise and timely financial reporting for Delrin. Your leadership and deep expertise in financial accounting will be instrumental in driving operational efficiency and fostering the continued growth of our business.Key Responsibilities:
  • Establishing and leading an international financial accounting team encompassing general accounting, Fixed Assets/Capital, Lease accounting, and collaboration with third-party providers.
  • Overseeing all aspects of the monthly accounting close process to guarantee accurate and punctual results, in strict adherence to company policies.
  • Reviewing balance sheet account reconciliations, proactively addressing issues, and perpetually enhancing the quality of all reconciliations.
  • Managing compliance with our internal control framework and addressing accounting matters with both internal and external audit teams.
  • Coordinating accounting services to align with operational requirements, while providing and interpreting data from accounting records as necessary.
  • Providing direction and leadership for accounting process enhancements, ensuring project completion within agreed timelines and instilling a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Working towards standardizing processes and promoting the adoption of "best practices" across all locations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA certification highly preferred.
  • 12 years of Finance management experience with a strong focus on financial accounting.
  • Minimum 5 years of team management experience essential.
  • Prior experience in the chemicals or manufacturing industry strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in account analysis with demonstrated expertise in general accounting and financial statement analysis.
  • Track record of process management and improvement initiatives.
  • Extensive familiarity with financial systems, particularly SAP, coupled with advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to manage and analyze large volumes of complex data with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience with internal and external audits, coupled with proficiency in General Ledger/SAP/HFM.
  • Strong team player with exceptional influencing and communication skills.
What You Will Bring:
  • Technical expertise in accounting and external reporting, including a solid understanding of US GAAP, close processes, and financial reporting systems. Knowledge of policy, controls, and compliance is essential, with a general understanding of tax laws and indirect taxes.
  • Business acumen extending beyond accounting and external reporting, with preference given to candidates with experience in Big Four accounting firms.
  • Leadership skills demonstrated through effective business partnering and communication across global, cross-functional teams to drive timely and accurate results.
  • Growth and digital mindset, with an aptitude for identifying strategic opportunities and leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Integrity and sound judgment in decision-making, aligned with organizational values, policies, and external regulations.
